We all encounter difficulties at some point in our lives - the key is to find someone who can offer us support as well as the opportunity to explore these issues further.
That is exactly what I aim to provide at Affirmative Counselling & Psychotherapy
Helen Storey, a qualified, person-centred psychotherapist, counsellor & supervisor with over twenty years of working with relationship difficulties, anxieties, adult survivors of abuse, loss and bereavement. My specialism is working with people with life threatening illness, their friends and their family.
What I offer:
I work both short or long term with individuals and couples.
I offer an initial meeting so that we can find out more about each other. By the end of this meeting you will be able to decide whether counselling is the right step for you or whether to undertake psychotherapy. We can both decide on how we can work together.
My approach is person-centred/existential. I work phenomenologically, putting the relationship between myself and my clients at the heart of my work. This, though, is in the context of the world in which we are both situated.
I am a qualified psychotherapist registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I am committed to working within their ethical frameworks.
